This is the third track off the Every Passing Minute EP called ‘Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra’ out on 02/02/2020

When Federica Gazzano  came to me with this recording of her voice I found it so hypnotic and calming I couldn’t wait to get to work on it

A mantra is a sacred ode, an ancient Indian haiku glorifying and praising one of their many Gods – in this case, Shiva
From the day we are born, whatever we do is fundamentally a derivative of fear as all efforts of man are towards conquering fear.
Fear may be divided into 3 core categories:
-Fear of death
-Fear of losing things/ people dear to us
-Fear of failure of any kind

Mantras have been powerful tools for human beings in overcoming fear
Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra, by definition, protects us from our deepest fear – Fear of death

Typically written in Sanskrit, the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra roughly translates to:

“I worship that fragrant Shiva of three eyes, the one who nourishes all living entities.
May he help us severe our bondage with samsara by making us realise that we are never separated from our immortal nature
Om, we worship Three-Eyed Lord Shiva
who is fragrant and nourishes all beings
May he remove our bondage from worldly life
Liberate us from fear of death by making us realise our immortal nature”
